About Bradford Communities

Company Overview

Bradford Communities, Inc. is a California corporation that was formed in July, 2007. The principal owners, J. David Bradley and John R. Ford, have over 60 years of combined homebuilding experience in the San Francisco Bay Area. Between them, they have created over 40 new home communities, comprised of over 3,500 homes. The business plan for Bradford Communities is to develop smaller residential communities located in the immediate Bay Area, primarily Contra Costa, Alameda and Santa Clara counties. The company’s development team consists of some of the best and most respected land planners, architects and engineers in the industry. The company acts as its own general contractor and uses only quality, experienced subcontractors. The sales, escrow and warranty teams are chosen by their ability to provide a level of service that makes the home buying process as less cumbersome and less stressful as possible.

Our Vision

Bradford Communities is more than just a homebuilder. We are a creator of community, opportunity and enhanced quality of life for our homeowners. By choosing desirable locations close to urban employment centers, we create well-priced, quality, eco-friendly homes that provide comfort, safety, security and peace of mind. And by listening to our homebuyers and their needs and desires, we create places to live that match the lifestyles that our homeowners are seeking. With an unrelenting commitment to excellence in construction and our passion for delivering the best customer service experience possible, Bradford Communities is setting a new standard for delivering the American Dream.

J. David Bradley, Principal

After graduating from the University of Southern California, David Bradley spent the first half of his real estate development career in market analysis with the national recognized firm, Robert Charles Lesser & Company, and then in equity investments with Weyerhaeuser Venture Company. These experiences provided the opportunity to analyze and evaluate a variety of different housing opportunities and laid the foundation for his move into senior management. During his 14 combined years at UDC Homes and Ryder Homes, Bradley’s responsibilities involved overseeing the management of projects, ranging from acquisition and entitlement to development and construction. Moreover, he oversaw all operational facets including sales, marketing and warranty service. His responsibilities also included overseeing the site planning and house designs, choosing home features and specifications as well as reviewing and selecting subcontractors. While a member of the senior management team at Ryder Homes, the company became the 16th fastest growing homebuilder in 2000 and was listed as the 109th largest builder as ranked by Professional Builder magazine. In 2002, Bradley served as the President of the northern division of the Homebuilder Association of Northern California (HBANC) and served on the Executive Committee for seven years.
